B.Sc. Nautical Science

This is a 3-year full-time residential program approved by the Directorate General of Shipping, Ministry of Shipping (Government of India). It covers all important topics related to maritime education and Nautical Science. The program focuses on training and preparing eligible students for becoming Deck Officers and imparts learning in Nautical Technology, with more attention to practical skill development.

All candidates applying for B.Sc. Nautical Science program need to appear for a common entrance test (IMU-CET) conducted by the Indian Maritime University (IMU).

After completing this course, one can join as a Navigation Officer on both National and International Ships. With relevant years of sea service and passing required examinations, a Navigation officer can rise through the ranks and become a Ship, Captain.

    Eligibility Criteria

    • Passed 10+2 with an average Mark of 60% in Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics
    • 50% Marks in English either in 10th or 12th

    Age limit: Below 25 years
    Passport: It is mandatory to have passport at the time of course commencement.

    Medical Standard
    • Candidates should be Physically Fit for Sea Service under DGS norms
    • Eyesight 6/6 without any external aids
    • No Color Blindness
